Dr. Casmer
Susan Casmer, DVM, has been serving Colorado Springs as a licensed veterinarian since 1999. She graduated from the University of Georgia School of Veterinary Medicine before moving to the area. Currently, she is a member of the Colorado Veterinary Medical Association, the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Animal Hospital Association, and the Colorado Springs Area Veterinary Society. In addition, she has served as an expert witness in animal-related cases and has shared her knowledge through the local media on topics such as the West Nile Virus. Dr. Casmer is most often accompanied by her Standard Poodle-Schnauzer mix (“Schnoodle”), Aspen.
   
Dr. Carlson
Gwen Carlson, DVM has been a practicing veterinarian since 1998 when she graduated from the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine. After a year internship at Colorado State University, she moved to Colorado Springs in 1999. She is a current member of the Colorado and American Veterinary Medical Associations, the American Animal Hospital Association, and the Colorado Springs Area Veterinary Society. Dr. Carlson worked together with Dr. Casmer at the beginning of their careers, and she enjoys the opportunity to be working with her again.
   

Angie – Office Manager
Angie graduated from Colorado State University with a B.S. in Microbiology in 1981. She held a fascinating position in the Diagnostic Laboratory Virology Department at the Veterinary Teaching Hospital until moving to Monument in 1988, and since then has been involved in administration and customer service in wonderful veterinary practices. She enjoys time with her three terrific children, whether they are all home together or when she travels to spend time with the oldest two.  She also has an entertaining family of cats. She feels very fortunate to be part of the incredible team at Northgate Animal Hospital.

   
Christa – Certified Veterinary Technician
Christa graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Veterinary Technology in 2002.  She has a passion for working with animals.  After working for several years in Denver as a technician, she moved back to Colorado Springs in 2009.  She owns a Pug-Dachshund mix, a Jack Russell-Chihuahua mix, and a tortoise shell cat.  In her off time, she likes to spend time with family, friends, and her pets.  She enjoys working at Northgate Animal Hospital because of the teamwork and quality of care for clients’ pets.
   
Crystal – Certified Veterinary Technician
Crystal graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Veterinary Technology in 2007.  She loves working with animals because of the therapeutic aspects and rewarding cases.  She currently has one Pomeranian and two tabby cats.  In her spare time, Crystal loves to crochet, sew, and hang out with her husband and daughter.  She loves working at Northgate Animal Hospital because the staff is so close knit, knowledgeable, and committed to patient care.
   
Katie – Groomer
Pet styling for over 10 years.  “This is better than a job!”  Grooming is her passion.  She is completely dedicated to her clients and takes great pride in applying her skills.  Away from work, she loves spending time with her family and friends.
   
Missi – Certified Veterinary Technician
Missi graduated from Bel-Rea Institute of Veterinary Technology in 2010.  She has worked in vet hospitals since 1996.  She earned a B.A. in Biology in 2004 and a degree in Zookeeping Technology in 2008.  She has a Rhodesian Ridgeback, two Boxers, and two Conures.  She likes reading, music, researching, and hiking.  She loves Northgate Animal Hospital because of the fun work environment and opportunities to learn.
   
Nicole – Technician
Nicole has been in the veterinary field since 2006.  She graduated from Kaplan College in 2008, before moving to Colorado Springs in 2008.  She has a Boston Terrier, Husky, Rotweiller, and a tortoise shell cat.  She enjoys working at Northgate Animal Hospital because of the upbeat atmosphere and variety of medical cases.
